Uh..What is this all this white stuff on the ground?

Hello their folks, fans, and other people who do not agree with the type of greeting that i have used. o.O

well after a long and tiring flight back to Canada, WE MADE IT! Though I am alone right now and do not feel that I should tell the random stories that happened along the way, fear not, they will be blogged. I just do not feel at liberty to write them without my other team members. The good news is that not only did we make it, but SO DID OUR LUGGAGE *crowd goes wild*. I know right? May God bless that wonderful man in Delhi. (I will explain in more detail later about Delhi and our uh...wonderful experience -.-;)

Well i know this is short, but i hope you all continue to read the blog as we talk about what we have learned and experienced through this trip. I am very pleased to say that it was evident that God was with us and around us and I can't wait to share the amazing stories that God has given us to share and has written in our hearts. I have never felt so blessed to be apart of Gods plan. Thank you for your prayers. Its good to be back home were everyone (or most everyone) speaks English. I will miss the friends and family I have come to know in Nepal and may God bless them and their ministry.

God bless you all,
Oh and Ron and Cheryl, will are also praying for you and cannot wait for your return. God be with you all!

Tell everyone we're on our way!!!!

Hello Canada!! (And other places, of course!! :P) Well, today's officially our last day in sunny, snowless Nepal. Kim's quite distraught, and is guzzling coke to help herself feel better. We haven't yet begun what is sure to be many tearful goodbyes, but that should be happening pretty quick here. Our luggage is packed (Kim's sans wheels...sorry mom!) and waiting for us in the car, and Ron, Cheryl and Shanta have already begun missing us. We haven't told anyone, but we're missing them (and the girls!) already too!

Yesterday we were blessed to be able to provide a fellowship picnic for the believers of Shanta's church. Since we weren't able to go provide a meal at the leper colony, we decided to bless the believers instead. It was an amazing day! The sun shone, even though the day started out looking like rain, and everyone had a blast! There was lots of singing and laughing and good times had by all! We even got playing a game called 'cat and mouse', and Kim and I almost died laughing over the fact that Nepali mice say 'chi' instead of 'squeak'!

Anyway, it's time for us to head to the airport, so we must be off. I'm sure we'll blog en route to Canada whenever we get internet. Thanks again for the prayers while we've been here, and for keeping us in your prayers as we travel back now.

God bless,

Larissa, Kim and Obeth

Shh, no one is looking. :P

Hello there folks! Its your amazing friend KIM!!!!! *the crowd goes wild* Awe gosh, you guys are too flattering. Ehem

Anyways, while I am writing this blog everyone is off doing their own thing, showering, reading, drinking water etc. and they do not know that i am blogging :O I know right, rebel in the house.

Well we are just about to take off to...a place I cannot spell...let me try. Thamel WMAHAHA!!! I am going to go souvenir shopping. Anyone want anything??? Well as our stay here is drawing to a close, only about 4 more days before we board the plane, we find ourself wondering where all the time went. We have become really close with some of the girls and every time someone mention that we are leaving soon they break out in protests. Inside, I do to. As much as I miss home, I will really miss these girls. I have hopes of coming back here, or at least better their emails of something. Maybe I can write letters.

:O oh no! My team have spotted me...*hides under the covers until they leave* phew. Ok. Well as you read we have received our luggage. Thanks to Ron and his big voice. His Canadian heart was sad, but he knew he had to do it. The last of our bags are supposed to get here today. Thank God. We three girls did not want to have to truck around Delhi Airport looking for these things. But not having our luggage has shown Larissa and I one thing, we can get by with almost nothing. I believe that not having our luggage really pushed us to truly interact with the culture at a deeper level. Cheryl is a great one to have around. She is like a mother to us, and super funny. I will never forget the random convo's we've had.

Even though we are very sorry that we have to leave soon, we do miss Canada, and CLBI...and Scott Gjesdal especially. (Scott you owe me a bacon cheese burger now.) We will keep trucking along, listening to the direction God gives us until we board that plane!

We send this with so much love and hopes to see you all soon. God bless you and thank you for your prayers. Especially bout the luggage! :)

-Kim and Larissa

And to the CLBI staff, thanks for the little card devo things. Love them and you guys.

Silly moments with Queen Kimmi

Well we join you now at the center as we begin our "Training" to become Nepali women. After learning to make some jewelry we started on crocheting. Larissa picked it up very well and Kim...gave it her very best effort and almost finished one flower (before her yarn broke) while Larissa made two..in that time. So needless to say. Kim did well but has decided to stick to sleeping, eating and occasionally reading...oh and hanging with the girls.

The other funny moment with Kim was finding out that while she was freezing at night, she was actually sleeping on about about ten extra blankets. (Kim: obviously my intuition is a little off when I am looking for something. It's not like I am lacking anything in my brain. -.-;)

Other than that we are doing great. It is great to be back as the center as we are waiting for our luggage...still. But our hopes are high as our travel agent is trying to do something about it. Our relationships with the girls are improving as we all unite in the knowledge that we share the same, one and only God. At first it was a challenge for me (Kim) to view them as people. I mean I knew that they were, but it was hard for me actually think that. But I have gladly come to see that they smile, laugh, cry and feel all the same emotions we do. They take joy in most of the same situations and just all 'round, they are the same as us. :)

Obeth is still learning the language and is very good at it...most of the time. The pronunciation is a little off (we blame it on her being Swiss) but thats no big deal. Just ask her to say Chara and everyone bursts into laughter. We have also come to know that the big question we face on a day to day basis is not 'why' but rather 'Why not?" (Say in Nepali accent). We were FINALLY able to do some dishes, although they wouldn't let us do all of them, but we are making progress.

Something that has really moved us this past little while is just how much the girls have opened up to us. We are tickling each other and laughing at one another's stories, just really getting to know them and allow them to touch our hearts. With some of the newer ones their smile seems very fragile, but when I catch a glimpse of it, Gods love just spreads in my heart. It is amazing to see God and His healing at work. I hope that He will continue to show us the power of his love. Next Saturday we will be talking about the unity and love of Nepal in church so please pray for us. :)

Well we are off for a short break before helping the girls with their English. We send love to all our readers and those at CLBI whom we miss. So much love also to our families back home, where ever they might call home. Peace be with you all.

We did What!!!??? :)

Well here we are again in the small van heading to Krishna nagar, and then to Butwal and then we will make our way up to Chitwan. Ten of us tightly packed into a nine passenger van. This time it’s only a 6 hours trip…to Krishna Nagar. Its really around a ten hour trip.

The last few days have been busy but wonderful. After getting to a nice little resort we found out it was a run by all Christian staff. We girls were delighted to find a room with three beds equipped with a fluffy pillow and wondrous blankets. After waking up early we were off on out elephant ride through the jungle. While us three girls rode on one elephant while Ron, Cheryl and Amrit went on the other. It was so great! At the cute lil lady elephant rocked side to side we watched it eat leave and elephants grass.  It was weird because the elephants would rip it out of the ground, smacks it on the ground with their large trunks, and then ate just the ends of it before throwing it on the ground.

While on the elephants we saw many small spotted deer that we thought were all small fawns at first, but then realized that they were in fact just small deer. One our way back we seen an orphaned rhino.

After we returned and finished breakfast we went on a jeep drive deeper into the jungle, searching for a tiger. Although we did not find the wondrous creature we did find his tracks. On our jeep ride we seen monkeys, wild boars, a little rabbit and trees that Obeth and I just wanted to climb. Amrit found us some berries and we had a jungle picnic, only listening to the birds in the forest as we had to remain quiet as we waited to spot the tiger

Once we again returned to the resort we went into the crocodile hatchery and saw two different breeds of crocs. Luckily none of them ate us J. The staff at the resort were lovely to us but they were all boys, so dear men of CLBI we expect to be served by the lot of you when we return. :D just kidding.

I am very proud to say that this trip is a once in a lifetime thing, although we are starting to wish it wasn’t. While the people here are great, they are in great need. We have been to many villages and seen the people there. They greeted us and adorned us with flowers, placing them on our necks and giving us many bouquets of them. They had prepared a skit for us and we watched a bible study. It was such a blessing to see and hear Omreet talk of the bible to these people. When we finally left the village the woman and children followed us out. My heart almost burst as the children skipped along side us and tried to ask our names as we attempted to speak Nepali to them. It is so evident that the Lord is moving in Nepal.

Thank you for your prayers and I hope everyone is having a blast at home. There are many stories to tell when we return. Its so hard to believe that we have only been here a little more than a week. We have done and experienced so much that it’s hard to fathom. May God bless you all. Please continue your prayers as BA is being a little stubborn about not wanting to send our luggage to Kathmandu from Delhi. Silly people.

We send this with much love and many thanks.

-Kimberly.

In Dhangadhi

After our 17 hour trip we finally arrived in Dhangadhi. Being able to see the different parts of the country was wonderful. Coming from the heavily populated city of Kathmandu we traveled through dense forest, mountains, across rivers and through small villages. It was sure a site to see. We came across monkeys, water buffalo, oxen and other variety of animals. The trip was very tiring and long and I slept for most of it. In Chitwan we came across a parade and were swarmed by the mass people who live there. While our van was unable to move because of the amount of people we left there in search for lunch. As we snapped pictures of the people and the parade. We went and ate at a small restaurant and ordered really spicy stuff (not me though hehee. After that we all climbed back into the small van to continue our travels. When we finally arrived in Dhangadhi it was around 10:00-10:30pm and we were all tired. We found a  hotel and once they figured out the sleeping arrangements and Ron showed us some of his intimidating presence while figuring out the power and water problems for us. Soon after we all fell asleep quickly.

This morning we awoke and after a large hearty breakfast we traveled to a small village outside of Dhangadhi we visited people from the cast of the untouchables. Us girls went in and witnessed a small class that taught women to read and write in Nepali. We were greeted with flowers, which were very beautiful. After our short time there we headed off to the border between India and Nepal. The border station watches traffic and are very good at picking out people who are potentially trying to bring women over the border into India to put them into brothels or prostitute houses.

A few days ago the monitoring station received a request for help from a 22 year old woman who has a 3 year old girl. Please pray for this woman and her child, as for all these women who are victims of trafficking. Pray for Gods protection around them. After hearing about this story our hearts broke. Please pray for the co-operation of the governments and thank you again for your prayers for us. Our luggage has still not made it but we continue to move forward and follow in the path God has laid out for us.

God bless you all. I send you all love from the team and gratitude for your prayers. You'll be hearing from us soon.  -Kimberly
